About
John Stephen Tittmann is a versatile pianist, keyboardist, and educator, regularly performing classical, jazz, and popular styles as a solo artist, in various ensembles, and as an accompanist. He has studied with Merle Langs-Greenberg, Stephanie Watt, Richie Iacona, and Stephanie Brown. John received his Bachelors degree from LIU Post in Music Education and his Masters and Artist Diploma from SUNY Purchase in Piano Performance. When he was 16, he won the Associated Music Teacher's League's Young Musicians' Competition and performed at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. In 2009, he performed at the Chopin Manor House, which was the location of Chopin's first public concert, in Duszniki-Zdrój, Poland. In 2010, he appeared at the annual Jazz à Juan festival on the French Riviera. He has also performed in Rome, Florence, Perugia, Beijing, Xi'an, and Prague. Locally, John is a collaborative pianist for the NYSSMA All-State festivals, working with both vocalists and instrumentalists. He has participated in masterclasses with artists such as Wu Han, Marc Silverman, and Gabriella Montero. He also plays for services at Church of the Intercessor in Malverne, and he maintains a private studio of around 45
students.
